Game 1- 0-33 (lost)

The 2008 Season is officially under way. Saturday, September 6th, the boys played their first game Saturday and it was definitely a “first game.” There were moments when things went really well and there were times when things didn’t go the way we would have liked. It was the first game in a 10 game season and I know our boys will continue to learn and execute. They played hard and showed a great deal of improvement over the previous week’s scrimmage. There is plenty to be proud of.

Game 2- 19-13 (won)

The Wolfpack rolled to VICTORY Saturday over the South Mountain Colts. The Wolfpack burst onto the field and scored on the 1st play from scrimmage. This game had it all.
The Offensive line performed great which lead to the running game catching fire with power runs. There were a couple of fumbles, but the offense put enough points on the board to prevent that from being an issue.
Special teams started the second half by recovering an onside kick, putting the ball back in the hands of our hard driving offense.
On the Defensive side of the ball, passes were tipped, including an interception. The Colts were repeatedly dropped for losses, and coughed the ball up on more than one occasion. When the Colts started their final drive 1st and goal from the 5 yard line with time running out it looked grim. But the Wolfpack “D” not only held, it pushed the Colts back to 4th and goal from the 21 yard line, stopping them and sealing the Victory! Congratulations Boys, Job Well Done!

Game 3- 37-0 (lost)

The Wolfpack Offense moved the ball, in the air and on the ground, most of day but had difficulty in the Red Zone. They fought hard and never gave up.
On Defense, for the second week in a row the Wolfpack had an interception. The Goal Line defense played fiercely allowing only 1 extra point. The scoreboard did not reflect the fight and determination our boys showed out on the field.

Game 4- 6-36 (lost)

Great Job Saturday Boys! Against an undefeated team our boys played a tight game for the first half. Driving into the Red Zone on their first possession they were only stopped by an unfortunate fumble. Following the fumble the other team scored and our boys answered right back with a score of their own. It was an excellent performance by the offensive line to move down field and set up a pass play to score. After half-time things just wouldn’t go our way and the game quickly got away from us. One thing about this team is they never quit and kept on fighting till the end.

Game 5- 6-19 (lost)

What a great weekend! It was a beautiful fall day for the MMC Wolfpack to fight it out on the gridiron. With the change in the weather it actually began to seem like football season. Our boys had the opportunity to play on an incredible varsity field with an announcer calling the game. It was a lot of fun for the boys to hear their names called as they participated in the game. The high school band practicing on a nearby field added to the “Big Time” feel of the game. The team played a good, close game with some dramatic moments on both offense and defense.
On offense we moved the ball well and have seen some boys on the “O” line really step up and improve. Our score in the second half was a direct result of the “O” line giving the QB time to throw and the receiver time to get open down field. Our defense has demonstrated flashes of greatness with QB sacks, 4th down stops and pressure up the middle. Our Offense moved the ball all day, in the air and on the ground, including a 43 yard Air Strike to the End Zone. The Goal Line defense once again played fiercely. The defense made the Gladiators pay for the real estate they took. Improved play on both sides of the ball kept our boys in the game ‘til the end. The final score of 6 – 19 doesn’t tell the whole story of how well our boys played

Game 6- 0-12 (lost)

Game 7- 6-26 (lost)

Game 8- 34-6 (won)

WOLFPACK WINS THE HARVEST BOWL! The shadows were long across the field on a crisp fall morning as the MMC Wolfpack took on the Bolts from Buckeye in the Harvest Bowl. From the opening kickoff this was a excellent day for the Wolfpack! If you arrived late for the kick-off you missed some early excitement. Our first play from scrimmage went for a 50 yard touchdown run. Then our boys converted the extra point for an early 7 – 0 lead. Following an excellent stand by the defense, again our offense had the ball at mid-field for another “lightening” quick score. Two offensive plays into the game and the Wolfpack leads 14 – 0. The excitement on the Wolfpack sideline was “electrifying.” The established running game opened up the field for additional touchdowns throughout the afternoon on the ground, and in the air. The Defense played perhaps its best game of the season. The boys on defense were in the backfield of the Bolts early and often. Multiple sacks by the defensive line kept the Bolts offense stalled and gave the Wolfpack offense great field position on each possession. Unveiling our new “Wildcat” formation was fun for the boys and it worked to perfection, with success both running and passing. Final score 34 – 6. Wow! Great job team!!! The Wolfpack marched from the field as the 2008 Harvest Bowl Champions.
