Volunteers Are Critical
Simply put, our program would not exist without volunteers. We do not compensate any of our volunteers, including coaches, board members and business managers, yet they and many others devote a substantial amount of their time and energy to support our youth football program.

For example, consider the time our coaches devote. They attend 10 hours of practice per week during pre-season and attend CAYFL and DHYFA meetings and training sessions. During the season, they participate in 6 hours of practice per week and attend games every Saturday. On top of this, most coaches spend additional time each week preparing for games by participating in coaches meetings, reviewing game film and scouting upcoming opponents. They also spend time talking with parents and their players outside of practice and helping DHYFA with activities such as fundraising.

This year we will serve many Anthem, Desert Hills, New River and Tramonto children from the time practices begin in the beginning of August until the season ends with the National Championship in early December.

Here are some examples of jobs for which we need volunteers:

The business manager is in charge of the operations of the team, essentially the assistant to the head coach.

Complete all necessary forms and communicate with the league treasurer for disbursement of funds.
Keep all receipts and records available to the team or league treasurer to view at any time.

STATISTICIAN
The Statistician will complete the form required by the league on the player mandatory plays for the game.
The Statistician will provide a copy of the game stats to the head coach and/or business manager for his game report.

SPONSOR/FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR
This job involves offering suggestions, ideas and answering questions regarding sponsorship and fundraising money for your team. Since all team expenses (banquet, player/cheer gifts, coach gifts, pizza parties, team expenses, etc.) must be raised by each individual team; this role is very important for the success of a well-rounded season.
The sponsor/fundraising coordinator should sit down with the head coach and business manager and establish a game plan/budget and 'wish list' for the teams activities, awards, parties, etc., for the entire season.

The sponsor/fundraising coordinator will communicate consistently with the business manager on status of funds for the team.

CHAIN GANG
The CHAIN GANG team is present at every game. They are on the field and responsible for marking each play with the 10-yard markers. Home games require two people on chain gang / Away games require one.
The CHAIN GANG is responsible for showing sportsmanlike behavior since they are on the field and in direct communication with the referee's. Their behavior is directly reflective of and is the responsibility of the HEAD COACH.

GAME DAY TOWEL PERSON (S)
The 'Towel person' prepares and brings game day towels. Wet, rolled and brought in a cooler packed with ice. These are used for the players and coaches during the hotter months of the season. This is a great position to rotate between two parents.

Volunteering can be rewarding. You get the chance to interact with other Anthem, Desert Hills, New River and Tramonto Wolfpack family members and to contribute to the program. Without volunteers, our association would not exist. Thank you for your time and willingness to become a part of the Wolfpack Family!
